PUBLIC WORKS

            During the month of March the Public Works Department performed scheduled maintenance tasks and completed all requested tasks.   

 

ZONING/CODE DEPARTMENT

If you have a complaint about a property in the Borough you can now go to http://penargylborough.com/PABAdmin/images/PM_Complaint_Form.pdf or come to the Borough office and fill it out and return to the Borough Office.  All complaints are handled with discretion.  Anonymous complaints will not be investigated. In March the following permits were issued:  3 building and 1 mechanical.  Also completed; 130 rental property licensing registrations and 3 re-sale property inspections. There were 4 zoning and I planning application processed. The Zoning Officer can be reached at 610-863-1821 or at zoning@penargylborough.com  

 

LOOKOUT FIRE COMPANY

            In March the Lookout Fire Company responded to 14 calls.  They spent 388 hours on calls and logged an additional 223 hours on drills.  Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, 4/15 at Weona Park.  Sportsman Raffle and Meat Drawing on Saturday, 4/22 from 1P.M. till 5 P.M.at the Weona Park Community Center. WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

            Monthly, weekly and quarterly sampling was done, all are in compliance.  Equipment, plant and pumping station maintenance was completed.  Answered and marked 1 PA One Calls. 

SLATE BELT RISING

            Slate Belt Rising is looking for volunteers for committees that will assist the program to implement a community revitalization plan in the Boroughs of Wind Gap, Pen Argyl, Bangor and Portland.   Please contact Stephen Reider at 484-523-0900 or at sreider@caclv.org for more information. BOROUGH NEWSLETTER

            Borough Newsletter- The Borough Newsletter is published each month following the Borough Council Meeting.  It can be found at the Borough Hall or on our website at www.penaryglborough.com .   You can receive the newsletter by email by contacting: manager@penargylborough.com and requesting it.  You will need to provide your name, address and email contact.  While on the web site make sure you like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!!!!!

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!     ITEMS OF INTEREST!

 

Garbage/Recycling –Garbage collection is every Friday.  Recycling will be on April 14th & 28th as well as   May 12th & 26th.  Garbage/recycling containers are to be placed on the resident’s property at the curb line and are not to be placed before 2 P.M. on the day before pickup.

Park hours – All sections of the park are now closed at dusk.

Dog LicensesResidents are reminded to renew their dog licenses. Licenses can be purchased at http://www.padoglicense.com or by going to the County Courthouse in Easton, PA.     

Blue Mountain Community Library- Therapy dog Quincy will be at storytime on 4/12 and 4/13.  The public is invited to the next board meeting, scheduled for 4/19 at 6:30 P.M. Adult book discussion group selections:  4/18 – What She Left Behind by Ellen Marie Wiseman; 5/16 – Glory Over Everything by Kathleen Grissom.  Book group meetings begin at 6:30 P.M. Books are available for checkout. Save the date: 4/7-3rd annual antiques appraisal/silent auction event; 5/ 2-luncheon with author Kate Moretti; 6/16- winery fundraiser.
